Spay Neuter Assistance

The CatPAWS Spay Neuter Fund

DUE TO OVERWHELMING DEMAND THIS FUND IS TEMPORARILY SUSPENDED. PLEASE DO NOT SUBMIT APPLICATION. If you have already received a voucher, it will be honored but we cannot accommodate new requests at this time. Please check back. We will update this page when we can resume. Thank you.

This fund is supported solely by private donations. We receive no city, county or state funds. We have to conserve our resources to help only those in the most need, so please ask for vouchers only if you have no other resources available to you and cannot otherwise afford to get cats spayed or neutered. We appreciate your understanding.

This fund was established in October 2010 to support CatPAWS’ mission of providing Trap/Neuter/Release (TNR) for feral cat management, to help people with their own cats and those they find and to reduce overall cat overpopulation. Because of overwhelming demand, we have a limit of 5 vouchers per person/household per year. If you are involved in a large TNR effort, please contact us at info@helensanderscatpaws.com and we will discuss whether we can raise money specifically for that project and if we can assist.

At this time, we have available a limited supply of spay/neuter vouchers for residents in Orange County, CA.  If you are a resident of Long Beach or cities served by that Animal Shelter agency, please see below.

PLEASE READ INFO BELOW BEFORE FILLING OUT FORM OR DONATING!

Our vouchers are only valid at selected clinics at which we have accounts, currently in Orange County, subject to change. If those clinics will not work for you, we are sorry but we will not be able to help you.

Please make sure to fill out all required fields on application, then hit 'submit'. If it goes through successfully, you should get a confirmation notice.

PLEASE CONTACT LONG BEACH ANIMAL CARE SERVICES IF YOU ARE A RESIDENT OF LONG BEACH or cities served by Long Beach Animal Care Services (includes Seal Beach, Signal Hill, Cerritos, Los Alamitos):

When you make your appointment, please be sure to inform the clinic that you will be using a voucher supplied by Helen Sanders CatPAWS. Please reference your last name and issue date. Voucher is valid for 60 days after the date of issue.

NOTE: This voucher from CatPAWS will cover up to the amount designated on the voucher for a standard spay/neuter. If the cat is pregnant or in heat or there are complications any resulting extra charges will be the responsibility of the owner/caregiver. Cost for other services or products above and beyond the dollar value stated on the voucher are the responsibility of the owner/caregiver. CatPAWS assumes absolutely no liability for any issues that may result from use of this voucher.

The tragic consequences of pet overpopulation can be prevented – there is a solution. Thank you for being part of ‘The Fix’!

Why spay and neuter?

This is Nehemiah. The rest of his litter and his mom, suffering from upper respiratory infections, had already been euthanized at the shelter. A plea was sent out to rescue organizations to save him since he was starting to show symptoms of this very common and treatable condition but one often beyond the capacity of public shelters to manage, and he would be next. “He is too young to die”, the plea started. Yet that is the fate of too many kittens, born to die. Female cats have litter after litter, their bodies exhausted and nutritionally depleted, often giving birth to sick kittens, and sometimes succumbing themselves to illness, or being euthanized in shelters. This cycle must stop. Please be part of the solution!
